Korean Air launches application for Android phones
Published: 29/07/2010 - Filed under: News »
Korean Airlines (KE) has launched an application for users of Android OS smartphones.
Similar to an earlier tool launched for the iPhone, it allows access to flight schedules and features flight availability and status checks. It also offers current reservation information as well as the latest ticket fares and SKYPASS mileage records.
The application likewise links users to KE's travel site (www.travel.koreanair.com) showcasing travel information and audio guides of famous Eastern European destinations among others. More upgrades will be added to future editions of the carrier's application for smartphones, including seat reservation and pre-seat assignment.
KE joins the ranks of other smartphone-savvy Asian airlines Dragonair, Asiana Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and most recently, Cathay Pacific, which have launched applications for smartphones.
The application is available in Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese and can be downloaded for free in the Android Marketplace application on Android handsets.
