Oakwood Serviced Apartments is poised to open its second property in Guangzhou – the 225-unit Oakwood Premier – in the second quarter of this year.
The property, located close to the East Railway Station in the Tianhe business district, which connects the city to Hong Kong, houses studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units ranging from 50sqm to 230sqm, for short- and long-term visits.
Each unit is fully-furnished, consisting of a fully-equipped kitchen alongside wifi internet access and a home entertainment system with a flatscreen LCD TV, DVD player and an iPod docking station. These offerings are in addition to standard amenities such as a washing machine and dryer.
The property also offers extensive leisure and business facilities for all residents including a restaurant, bar, gym, meeting rooms, swimming pool, a spa by Banyan Tree, a Residents’ Lounge and a children’s play area.
The Oakwood Gold Arch Residence, located on Er Sha Island, was the first Oakwood property to open in Guangzhou as well as the first international serviced apartment offering in the city. The group also has properties in Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Shanghai and a newly opened property in Hong Kong (see story here).
Demand for serviced apartments on the mainland is growing, as reflected by the number of properties opening up. Another serviced apartment brand, the Ascott, is slated to open the Ascott Guangzhou IFC later this year (see story here) with the goal to double its portfolio across China by 2015.
