Singapore Airlines’ subsidiary, SilkAir, has announced it will launch flights into Wuhan on April 24.

The thrice-weekly service, which will be the carrier’s seventh destination in Mainland China, will depart Singapore on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1300, arriving in Wuhan at 1805. The return leg will depart on the same days at 1855, arriving back in Singapore at 0000.

The carrier’s commitment to China is also seen in increased frequencies of flights to Changsha and Chongqing from March 25 and 27 respectively. An additional service will be added on the Singapore-Changsha route, making it four times weekly, while the Singapore-Chongqing route will go from five times a week to being a daily service.

The announcement of the airline's Wuhan service comes not too long after Air France also announced plans to fly to the city (see story here).
