Did a day trip from Tallinn to the lovely island of Saaremaa. Estonian Air's Saab 340 was spotless and shiny, just like the welcome from the single cabin crew member. Check-in had been seamless, as were departure formalities at Tallinn's nice new terminal. The flight was swift and comfortable, affording excellent views of the coastline and islands en route. A drink and light snack were served. Arrival at Kuressaare's tiny terminal was ahead of the 40-minute flight schedule, and within two minutes of disembarking I was on a bus into town.
The return journey was equally efficient, with a smile at check-in, a good wish at the gate and a welcome on boarding. If only all flights could be this nice! The Saab had comfortable seats and plenty of room. I had hand luggage only, which was easily stowed. The landing back at Tallinn was early, and passengers were soon off and into the terminal. A great experience, and all for EUR36. Marvellous.
